Job Title: Director – Education

Reporting to: The Group CEO

Supervisory Responsibilities: Company Management Team

Position Summary: As the Group’s lead in the education vertical, the Education Director creates and enhances value within this sector, ensuring long-term growth and sustainability for the Company. 

S/he will be individually accountable for providing overall leadership in developing and executing the Company’s strategy. 


The incumbent will have operational and commercial responsibility, and drive the Company’s aggressive growth plan in line with the Group strategic direction and priorities. 

The Director will guide, direct and lead the Management Team that includes the Principal School Administrators. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and recommend to the Board annual business plans, capital and operating plans, and budgets that support the Company’s strategy and consequently drive the execution of the strategy;
  • Oversee the Company’s achievement and maintenance of a satisfactory competitive position within the education industry;
  • Monitor performance and keep the Board fully informed of the progress of the Company towards the achievement of and/or deviation from its established goals;
  • Develop and ensure enforcement of best practice policies and processes that create competitive advantage for the schools
  • Create a pipeline of potential investments in line with commercial targets, towards the development of a portfolio of profitable education investments
  • Fostering strategic partnerships with both private and public organizations to further the Company’s agenda for education in Africa
  • Providing oversight in our school’s instructional design that ensures best in class graduates in any of our institutions
  • Attract, retain and provide leadership for talent in the education sector pool to ensure optimal productivity. Build an effective management team, and oversee the Company’s active plan for management’s development and succession;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • A Masters degree in Education: Instructional design, Educational Technology, Economics of Education, Educational Management, Curriculum and Instruction, Comparative Education, Teacher Education, or any other related field.
  • At least 5 years work experience in a management role within an education institution, or education services company
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design, development and implementation
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated experience in networking.
  • Experience in building and leading teams
  • Experience in financial and legal structuring will be an added advantage
