Introduction

ACTS is currently recruiting for the position of programme Administrator under the Climate Resilient Economy (CRE) Programme. The African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) is a pioneering development research think tank on harnessing applications of science, technology and innovation policies for sustainable development in Africa.

The candidate will be joining a team and global network of excellent / award winning researchers in the area of science, technology and innovation policies. ACTS was in 2016 rated among the top three global think tanks in Climate Change, and number one in Africa.

Overall Role

To support administrative functions of the Climate Resilient Economy (CRE) Programme and the Africa Sustainability Hub (ASH)

Specific Responsibilities

  • Regular tracking & reporting of projects’ outputs and progress to the programme team, publication and ICT
  • Provide logistical support to the programme and the hub e.g. planning & scheduling and of events such as workshops
  • Tracking and monitoring resource utilisation and budgeting for programme projects in liaison with the programme team and finance department
  • Supporting programme work planning and reporting
  • Establishing and maintaining the project & programme documentation library and dissemination in liaison with the ICT and publication officers
  • Support stakeholder engagement processes within the programme including handling correspondences with various partners
  • Establish and support the linkages and liaison between various partnerships within the programme
  • Preform any other assignment assigned by the supervisor(s).
  • Report writing and communication

Qualifications

  • MSc in International relations, Business Administration, Project Management or relevant social science field from recognised University. Knowledge of basic accounting is an added advantage
  • 2-3 years experience in Project management and Administration
  • Experience working in research
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of additional UN working language(s) preferably French is an added advantage
  • Experience working in an international organisation is an added advantage

Supervisor: Reporting to Head of Climate Resilient Economies Programme in liaison with the Director Finance and Administration

Terms of contract: 3 years renewable annually based on performance and subject to availability of funds

Remuneration: competitive remuneration reviewable based on performance
