Over the past 16 years, FilmAid has served displaced populations and their host communities in Kenya, Tanzania, Macedonia, Afghanistan, US Gulf Coast, Haiti and the Thai/Myanmar border.

FilmAid designs and implements communications initiatives on critical health, protection and environmental issues. FilmAid’s Theory-Of-Change is based on the integration of access, creativity and participation, which drive individual and community change, contributing to positive social impact. Underpinning this approach is collaboration; working together is fundamental to achieving change. FilmAid partners with communities, creators, NGOs, Governments, and the private sector to ensure a collaborative approach to this end.

Specific Tasks:

  • Ensure the production makes continuous verbal and visual sense.
  • Check the script for any errors and inconsistencies.
  • Prepare estimated running times.
  • Create story synopsis and character breakdowns.
  • Check shooting schedule to ensure that the required scenes will be shot and covered from required angles and distances.
  • Attend recce and pre-production meetings to give feedback.
  • During rehearsals record detailed timings which inform the shooting schedule.
  • Work closely with the Director to anticipate and solve any potential problems.
  • Prepare detailed daily continuity reports, editor’s daily log sheets and daily production reports.
  • Prepare all paperwork for post-production from principal photography.

Requirements

  • Exceptional skills of observation.
  • Have meticulous and methodical attention to detail.
  • Have stamina to remain alert and focused during filming.
  • Have good communication skills and practical approach to work.
  • Posses a good sense of visual composition, perspective and movement.
