Our client are seeking a Chief Commercial Officer who can provide strategic business leadership for the successful execution of the company’s market development & partners management goals.

The jobholder will offer an organised & creative mind set to oversee the definition, development, enhancement & execution of the company’s business strategy, manage the projects working capital, project financing, bid & commercial sales validation, project logistics & warehousing, billing, collections & accounting.

The jobholder will report to the Group CEO.

Job Purpose

The role will require a combination of strong technical solution selling skills with strong marketing and business development skills. Required to take ownership of the customer and the customer interface with the product or service offering, making sure that all functions of the organization are aligned to meet its strategic commercial objectives.

Chief Commercial Officer Job Responsibilities

  • Handle special assignments, do in-depth analysis, follow up on various files and work closely in concert with all members of the Senior Management Team.
  • Responsible for the implementation and achievement of his/her Business Area’s mission, goals and financial objectives.
  • Develop long-term plans and budgets for the department and its activities, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
  • Ensure systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the department.
  • Develop strategic direction and plans for the company with regard to all commercial functions including sales, marketing, business development and customer support/customer experience.
  • Manage sales pipeline to ensure accurate and adequate lead inflow to reach targeted sales objectives.
  • Develop and maintain initiatives in order to achieve up to date competitive analysis portfolio.
  • Develop annual and long term budgets for revenues as well as expenses.
  • Develop and monitor quality metrics to ensure outstanding service and customer support.
  • Establish and monitor progress against key performance indicators.
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities for the company’s product portfolio.
  • Develop and drive the pricing strategy of the organization.

Requirements for the Chief Commercial Officer Job

  • A graduate degree in a business related field from a reputable institution.
  • An MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Finance related background or CPA/ACCA qualifications are highly desirable
  • Project financing experience is highly desirable
  • Experience in managing working capital, project financing, project logistics & warehousing, bid & sales commercial validation are highly desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years of increasingly responsible experience, with at least seven years in a senior position at ExCo level.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently toward goals in a complex, diverse environment with multiple and changing demands.
  • Known for effective leadership of staff and passion for client satisfaction and execution.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Outstanding sales and marketing skills.
  • Senior executive experience and presence.
  • Superior organizational awareness
