Duties and Responsibilities

  • To Provide insights to the management team on trends, competitor status that will aid in driving business decisions
  • To Ensure compliance to company policies, procedures, commercial terms, and local regulations
  • To Resolve any outstanding issues with the concerned customer
  • To Seek new business opportunities in line with the organizational growth strategy
  • Responsible to collect the receivable for sales done

Key Competencies & Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in any relevant field
  • Must have at least 2 years proven Foodservice experience
  • Experience in working with targets and tight deadlines
  • Distribution experience of Food products is a must
  • Strong Sales skills with know-how on sales approach and route to market to Foodservice channel
  • Good know-how and knowledge of the Kenyan Foodservice market / hospitality market
  • Ideally someone from the industry itself
  • Strong Analytical and presentation skills, Team player
  • Ability to be self-motivated with a positive attitude and a solid work ethic

Group Financial Analyst


Role & Description: To deliver on the group finance function on monthly reporting, consolidation and analysis (financial and market analysis) for Cellulant Corporation.


This role requires accounting and high analytical skills, keen eye for detail, controls/process oriented ability to work under minimal supervision; highly versatile with ability to work in a very rapidly growing and changing environment requiring resourcefulness and drive to deliver results.
 

Areas of Responsibility

Reporting

  • Maintain Group revenue and metrics reporting templates to ensure standardization of views, information and understanding across the Group.
  • Consolidate, validate and analyze Group revenue and metrics reports.
  • Continuous report improvement to provide relevant teams with relevant views and shorter report timelines for faster information, decision and action.
  • Develop dashboards that report new initiatives in the business and provide analysis and insights to the management team that facilitate decision making.
  • Ensure current and future revenue and metrics reporting requirements are implemented in the ERP & DWH.

Group Finance

  • Monthly close out procedures- ensure that all countries carry out and share month end close out procedures for review. Consolidation of the month end close out procedures and report on the risk areas to the Group Finance Manager. Implement weekly close out procedures for improved monitoring of finance policies adoption.   
  • Assist the Group Finance Manager in the consolidation of group accounts.
  • Work with the group finance manager in the coordination of planning and budgeting process by; ensuring timely planning is done, the principles are understood and well-articulated in the plans with assumptions that are easy to understand and are achievable
  • Ensure that the ERP is adopted into the business and that all areas financial and non-financial that affect numbers are implemented and utilized.
  • Maintain up to date records for the entire group finance function.
  • Follow up and ensure yearly audits and consolidation are done on time across the group; ensure financials are prepared in line with IFRS – assist with audit discussions where required.   
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or any other related field
  • Professional qualifications in CPA, CFA, ACCA or equivalent

Experience:

  • 2 – 4 years of progressively responsible financial analysis & reporting experience, audit, preparation of financial statements, analysis of company accounts or equivalent experience.
  • High level of competence in ERP.
  • Advanced Ms Excel skills.

Main Duties: The primary function of this position is to support UCSF with its data needs by developing databases, dashboards, apps and other software to support its projects and programmes. 

The HIS Developer is expected to design databases to meet the needs for specific projects. 

Some projects will require the developer to design data entry screens for these databases, while other projects will require the developer to import data form existing data sources into a UCSF-managed database, sometimes with data transformations. 

Therefore, an understanding of SQL is critical. Most projects will require the data to be disclosed via dashboards – often with some transformation or analysis of that data before it gets displayed.

For example, data that originates from a single health facility may need to be aggregated into a district, provincial or national view on the dashboard. Visualising data on dashboards will be a critical component of the developer. 

Additional software development needs may arise occasionally, such as the development of mobile apps, or interoperability layers between existing systems. 

An example of that would be an implementation of OpenHIE. 

As an integral part of the UCSF Kenya Office, the Software Developer will be expected to meet with stakeholders, funders and government officials, and draw up requirements based on their needs.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities:
 

Under the direction of the UCSF Senior Manager for Global Health Informatics Officer, the HIS Developer will work with the UCSF SI team, the Global Programs in-country SI team, and USG and GOK colleagues to:

  • Establish needs and requirements for any database or information system
  • Determine the appropriate frameworks, tools and technologies to be used for implementing any database or information system, taking context, existing capacity and other guiding principles (e.g. open source, already in use in the health sector) into account
  • Based on agreed specifications, design, develop and maintain SQL-based databases, primarily using open source tools such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
  • Based on agreed specifications, develop web-based dashboards and other websites, including web apps that summarise, display, visualise data and make datasets available for download and further analysis
  • Develop output reports using popular reporting tools (such as Jasper Reports) that pre-analyse and visualise data, and allow other people to pull those reports online (through a website/dashboard)
  • Develop interfaces for interoperability to enable data syncing between databases
  • Any other duties assigned related to this job description

Minimum Requirements:

  • An appropriate degree in computer science, information systems or software engineering with a focus on software development or equivalent degree with five years experience – or at least ten years of demonstrable experience in software development
  • At least five years of experience in developing information systems, ideally with a focus on health information systems, in popular languages such as JAVA, PHP, Python, or C#. Open-source languages are highly preferable.
  • Demonstrable experience in working with databases and SQL, including writing SQL queries
  • An understanding of popular tools currently in the health sector such as ODK, DHIS2 and OpenMRS
  • Working experience with software development and maintenance tools like Spring, Hibernate, JQuery, Subversion, Git, Restful web services, Agile methodology, Jasper server, Android SDK
  • Experience with one or more of the following are considered advantages:
