Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Recruitment and selection: identify staff vacancy. Prepare notices and advertisements for vacant staff positions. Schedule and organize interviews. Participate in applicant interviews. Conduct reference checks on possible candidates. Prepare, develop and implement procedures and policies on staff recruitment.

2. Induction and Orientation: new candidate fills out the personal data form, submits all requirements needed.

3. Maintain personnel file: ensure that all full time employees’ files are updated and information transferred into the system. All doctors’ files are maintained and check for regular update.

4. Maintains human resources records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases; sick, and time off.

5. Attendance Register: monitor the attendance of employees in terms of lateness and absenteeism and give a monthly analysis report to the management.

6. Maintain and update leave schedule for all employees.

7. Develop and review HR staff handbook and policies and inform the staff and management of the policies.

8. Draft and update HR letters, e.g. offer letter, promotion, transfer, termination,

9. Performance management and appraisal: keep track of employees contract, plan for appraisal when appropriate. Draft performance appraisal report and forward to management.

10. Training: Conducting training need assessment. Administering on-the-job training programs. Evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and maintaining records of employee participation in all training and development programs

11. Administer and update payroll: Processing payroll, ensuring unpaid leaves are tracked in the system. Answering payroll questions and facilitating resolutions to any payroll errors. Draft a payroll summary and submit to the CEO for approval, once approved submit to the chief accountant for payment.

Job Requirements:

·         Diploma in Human Resource Management

·         Ability to work with minimum supervision.

·         Good working knowledge of Kenyan Labour Laws

·         Ability to analyze and evaluate data critically.

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function for this position is to perform routine clinical laboratory tests per prescribed procedures and acceptable practice pertaining to HIV/AIDS management, and general laboratory procedures in a Medically Assisted Therapy (MAT) Clinic

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performing Safe phlebotomy, sample collection and specimen management.

  2. Performing rapid diagnostic tests.

  3. Transporting samples from the MAT Clinic to the main laboratory for analysis.

  4. Collection of results for analyzed tests from the main lab, and keeping records of the same.

  5. Proper handling and segregation of waste in the MAT phlebotomy room.

  6. Ensuring proper organization of the MAT phlebotomy room, for efficient flow of activities.

  7. Keeping proper records of MAT clients attended to.

  8. Commodity management for phlebotomy & sample collection equipment.

Academic Qualifications:

· Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science Technology

· Higher National Diploma/Bachelors in Medical Laboratory Science Technology an added advantage

Professional Qualifications

· Registration with Medical Laboratory Technologist and Technicians Board

Kenya: Surveillance Officer

Under the supervision of the Medical Epidemiologist, the surveillance officer will work with the UCSF Surveillance team, the Global Programs in-country Surveillance team to:

· Participate in planning, designing and implementation of surveillance activities in collaboration with the MOH at national and county levels and their partners.

· Participate in the development of protocols, data collection tools, and implementation of surveillance activities and surveys.

· Support data analysis, interpretation, summarization and dissemination of data from surveys and surveillance activities.

· Participate in the creation and implementation of data dissemination tools for routinely collected data including the dashboards for county and national level data.

· Assist in the development, revision, evaluation and updating of surveillance systems as well as standardizing reporting procedures.

· Supports the MOH in data utilization for program improvement and planning.

Minimum Requirements:

· A Master’s degree in public health or relevant field is required.

· Minimum of three years of progressive professional experience in public health surveillance. Experience with HIV/STI programs preferred.

· Demonstrated understanding of survey design and basic data analysis

· Experience in writing and updating protocols and procedures relating to surveillance data
collection, storage, reporting, sharing and dissemination.

· Knowledge of concepts of public health, epidemiology and surveillance.

· Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

· Availability to travel in-country to support MOH and its partners in the planning, implementation and monitoring of surveillance activities.

· Fluency in English and Kiswahili is required.

Other Desired Skills/Qualities:

· Ability to prioritize, work under deadlines, work with minimal supervision and multitask.

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Ability to summarize disparate information in a clear and concise manner

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function for this position is to manage health systems and records in the MAT clinic making sure all reports are accurate and timely.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Updating of data management tools including registers based at the MAT facility.

  2. Registration of the new MAT client and updating files.

  3. Opening files for the new MAT clients.

  4. Management of the filing system at the MAT facility i.e. filing and retrieval.

  5. Data reconstruction and computerization from source documents as required

  6. Data entry of routine data into the IQCare database

  7. Data quality checks against client data from medical records

  8. Flagging of files for CD4, counseling, eligibility and starting of ARVs

  9. Compilation of the national monthly facility reports and other required reports

  10. Performing other clerical duties as assigned.

  11. Run routine reports validate and provide line lists as requested by the MAT program or MAT facility staff.

  12. Participate in MAT data analysis and presentation for data demand and information use for CQI team meetings.

  13. Notify the MAT clinical team in case of omissions, errors or ambiguous entries in the forms for updating and corrections to enhance accurate documentation.

  14. Prepare MAT clinic monthly reports.

Academic Qualifications:

· College Diploma with a specialization in Health Records and Information, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Health Informatics, Statistics or Mathematics

Experience:

· 1 – 3 years’ experience

JOB SUMMARY: To provide leadership in the formulation and implementation of the University’s ICT strategies and policies; develop information technology and telecommunication systems and manage ICT risk and security
 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Review and implement ICT standards, policies and procedures in line with best practice in the industry and CUEA’s overall strategy.
  2. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing (EDP).
  3. Liaise with the different divisions and departments to understand their ICT requirements and discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines.
  4. Lead both internal and third party service providers to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer software, networks and information systems as per the University’s requirements.
  5. Ensure the provision of all key ICT services as per Service Level agreements with the other divisions and departments within the University.
  6. Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to IT staff and to end-users.
  7. Identify the most appropriate procurement options for ICT to support the University’s objectives in liaison with the Supply Chain and Finance team and participate in the pre-qualification, negotiation and contracting of third party ICT service providers.
  8. Develop, review and implement CUEA’s ICT Security, disaster recovery and Business Continuity Plans.
  9. Work with HR to develop and implement training programs to broaden ICT skills in the University.
  10. Keep up to date with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet University and system requirements.
  11. Develop and recommend appropriate actions to deliver efficient and effective ICT services.
  12. Prepare quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports.
  13. Coordinate ICT projects in liaison with the user departments.
  14. Develop ICT budgets and manage all ICT operational and capital expenditures by obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness.
  15. Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor
