They are looking to hire a Finance & Admin Manager to be based in Nyahururu and be responsible for financial management and accountability of the distributor. He will also oversee the entire operations of the distributor in terms of logistics, finance, supervision of staff and report directly to the Directors.

Finance & Admin Manager Job Responsibilities

  • To manage the Company’s working capital and other operations, including management and statutory accounts together with long term financial projections and to ensure that the most efficient and effective financial control systems and reporting mechanisms are in place.
  • To prepare monthly management accounts and projections and other relevant reports, in consultation with the Head Office Finance Manager and other departments, for presentation to the Board of Directors.
  • To prepare the year-end financial accounts for audit and to liaise with the Head office Finance manager and Auditors prior to sign-off.
  • To ensure the overall smooth running of the Company’s internal administration and its cost-effectiveness
  • To manage, in conjunction with the Head Office finance Manager, staff contracts and HR matters.
  • To manage personnel procedures in relation to recruitment, training, holidays and appraisals, ensuring these are properly documented, and advise on relevant policies.
  • To be responsible for the Company’s IT resources, maintaining and implementation.
  • Oversee other departments which include; Sales and operation departments.
  • To ensure effective policies and procedures implementation within the organization.

Qualifications for the Finance & Admin Manager Job

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Business Administration or related field.
  • Must be a CPA (K) or ACCA
  • 5 years’ experience in accounting, finance and administration from a reputable organization
  • At least 2 years’ experience at management level in FMCG industry
  • Experience in distribution is an added advantage
  • Must possess strong leadership skills.

The Role

  • This is a Management role reporting directly to the General Manager with a dotted line to Centum Group Finance.
  • The job holder will assume responsibility for providing management accounting and financial direction to operations and support the strategic and business needs.
  • He/She will play an integral part to drive overall financial plan/strategy for the operation’s growth.

Management Accountant Job Key Responsibilities

  • Formulating Financial best practice guidelines/ policies and ensure compliance with international standards.
  • Planning & controlling of annual budgets and plans and the monitoring of performance against these plans.
    Management of the cash flows and working capital
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future performance of the business to support decision making. Primary focus is on corrective action and the successful implementation of these actions, monitored on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain efficient systems to monitoring integrity of financial statements generated and reported for the business
  • Provide direct support for Senior Management
  • Timely & accurate reporting of financial information (Local and Group)
  • Monitor/redirect company efforts and resources to ensure annual targets are achieved (P&L, B/S, Cash flow)
  • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards, statutory requirements, legal requirements, & Company policies and procedures
  • Ensure adequate controls, policies, procedures, & practices are in place to protect company assets
  • Ensure that the businesses operating expenses are held within budgeted limits and recommend revisions to bring them in sync with projected company performance throughout the year
  • Continuously monitor & ensure that the company operates within the Chart of Authority set down by the board and Centum
  • Regularly liaise with external parties (weekly/monthly with Internal Audit, External Auditors Banks & Government) in relation to the financial affairs of the company (Taxation, Statutory, Statistical, Finance, Business licence, Legal).
  • Coordinate annual Financial & Tax commitments for local statutory requirements

Educational & Experience Requirements for Management Accountant Job

  • Bachelor’s degree Finance/Accounting/Business graduate or equivalent
  • CPA (K) or ACCA
  • 5 years related experience various finance roles, three (3) of which must have been in the same level in an FMCG sector/industry
  • Strong SAP knowledge and experience would be an added advantage.

    8+ years experience

      Job will entail:

      – complete management of fund operations including ensuring accurate and timely execution & reporting, and risk management

      – settlement of trades, reconciliation of cash and securities

      – managing financial reporting to the regulatory authorities

      – liaising with investment team, internal operations team and custodians

      – ensuring accurate capturing of trades, incomes, expenditures, accruals, as well as subscriptions, redemptions and fund distributions

      – complete accounting of fund management company and investment SPV

      You should ideally have masters degree in accountancy with 8-10 years of work experience. Besides, expert level of knowledge of accounting, you should have hands-on experience in fund accounting, and reporting multiple NAVs in tight timelines.

      Exposure in handling multiple investment companies (SPVs) would be an advantage. You should ideally have worked on NAV calculations and should be able to review and analyse NAVs of funds with their embedded expenses, fees and charges.

      You should also be comfortable with Tally & Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel), Power Point, fund accounting software, etc.

      You should have good communication skills and be organised to meet deadlines. High levels of honesty & integrity, ability to lead a team and self drive are essential.
